I was looking through fungi shots from last year when I came across this one. It's generally not too bad but at the time I hadn't noticed the fungi was replicated in the water droplet on the right hand side. I could have made some interesting shots of the droplet.

Lesson learned- always look into the droplets!

HI Tony that would have bee the shot !!!!! Can only wonder now

I like the fungus Very nice feel, saturation and color just not crazy about the leaves Not sure you could do much as far as
blurring since it would look unnatural !!! .... look for the drop next time !!!!

Tony, I like the image, the textures and smooth wet surface looks make the Fungus really stand out.
I dont mind the leaves since they are an important part of the habitat and are dull and monochromatic anyway so they dont get in the way much.

Is that water or decay?

Also I would lighten the stem/stalk up a bit.

Very cool Tony. I agree with Robert that lightening the stem would help accentuate the Fungus.

Hi Tony,
My only nit is the highlights on the stem......easy fix,

Yes agree Tony, details captured in a water drop can make stunning images!!
Still this specimen has that moist feel that you associate with fungi. Besides the more colouful cap you have also managed to record some of the gill structure.

Hey Tony, very cool image, I like the swirling highlights on the top, and the droplet adds a nice touch. Well done.
