This is just a ol' Florida Brown Pelican.
I had the pleasure of hosting Jim"Kissimmee Jimmy"Neiger, Doug"Dr. Diesel"Brown, Walt"Better Beamer"Anderson and Arash"I finally have my PhD"Hazeghi.

Arash allowed me to use his D3s during the morning. Amazing camera.

We had a rare fog bank roll in, no problem. ISO 3200 to the rescue.

Nikon D3s
Sigma 300-800mm F5.6 @800mm
ISO 3200
Manually Exposed @ 1/2500 @ F8

James, I like the flying posture, especially the wing position of the far wing. Overall, the pelican is nice and sharp, with lots of detail. Your pelicans have so much more colour than our plain white ones. :e3Thats a large piece of nesting material he's carrying.

Great shot James! Love the pose, HT and the tree :w3 the pelican is carrying. I believe, the fog helped with the lighting of the subject here, reducing the shadows. The contrast looks really nice, fine post processing! Well done!

James, looks really nice. ISO 3200 sure looks great on the D3s.
