This was taken a few months ago about an hour drive north west from Sydney. I had great hopes to follow this pair and photograph their nesting but weather was cloudy for most of spring and summer so I only got this shot...:e3
Hopefully next year.
No blurring of BG or NR - very basic PS adjustments.

If all I got was this shot, I'd be a happy camper! I might include a bit more of the perch on the left.

Nice one Ofer, one can never see too many bee-eater photos. What a gem they are. I like the apposing head angles here and the crossed tails as well.
Well done.

A beauty for sure! I love the heart shape the side-by-side poses gave you. Great colours.

Good lookback poses from both, and the colours look spot on.

Ofer, one is all you need :)
Do you know much about this species? I am going back in June to South East Asia and hope they are still around.

This is very nice Ofer - I have not seen this species much and never photographed it. The colours, the head angles, sharpness and the overall comp very pleasing on the eye.

Such a beautiful image of these 'summer heralds' Ofer.
As Daniel Cadieux has mentioned, the silhouette the two birds have made is very appealing.
Hopefully next summer will be a little drier for you guys.
I'm curious, was there another bee-eater calling closeby?

Thanks for your comments guys!
Karl, there are usually a few pairs in the same area. They do not repsond to recorded calls as far as I know.

Yes, not the most responsive to tape tricks are they...
I wasn't inferring playback - just curious about the raised mantle in both birds.
Besides the point really - Its a great image.
