Ding Darling/Fort Myers area...now

I'm attending my nephew's wedding next weekend in Fort Myers Beach and have a weekend to kill.

Is Ding Darling still active then? What about Cape Coral's burrowing owls? Anywhere else still active in that area at this time of the year?
