7d, 500mm - hand Held. 1/2500 @ 7.1, 400 iso, EV -1.

This lone individual allowed me to get close. 85% FF. The slight shadowing on the right side of the bird bothered me at first but overall I find it an engaging image IMHO. I went for this image as the HA is far better that the full sun no shadow image were the HA is in profile.

Thanks, Tom.

PS - lightened the eye with curves, cloned out highlight specs on bill and back of legs as well as some BG spots.

Hi,

Well exposed with good detail in both the whites and the darker part. I like the over the shoulder pose. For me the bird (possibly with the exception of the eye and face) could use some sharpening, and I find it a bit tight in the frame at the sides.

The best thing about this is the framing. The light is very harsh and a bit off angle... The BKGR is distracting and the WHITEs could use a Linear Burn. You could also try reducing the contrast with a reverse S curve.

Taken past 9.00am - entering the realm of harsh light. Points taken Arthur. Will play around with those suggestions.
