Very nice, Bill! Interesting pose, like the colors and treatment.
Great as is, but wondering what it would be like if you added that golden color on the neck feathers, to the feathers on the back, and added a bit more grainy texture to background.

The reddish egret has reddish head and neck feathers, all other feathers are gray, so I don't think I ought to change that. Adding grain to the background? I've gotten complaints about grainy backgrounds before, which I actually have a high tolerance for, but still I wouldn't want to add it. Sounds like work.
I'm pretty lazy when it comes to processing and work hard to get the image right straight out of the camera. Sure, a few adjustments in ACR, but after a few minutes I'm good to go. With fractalius I make sure the base image is a good candidate, do a few PS adjustments, then use one of the several fractalius actions I've created, and I'm done. regards~Bill
