Per Artie, these shots are a DAD ( Dime a Dozen), but at todays prices a dime is not enough. Inflation has hit. About a 50% crop
Specs, 7'd, 500 IS with 1.4X

Excellent image. If it were me, I would have added a touch of fill flash, purely to liven up the eye a bit, adding the catchlight.

Excellent detail. I might run some NR on the BG, and I'd consider brightening all but the brightest areas of white by 1/3 of a stop or so.

Mark,
THere was not one photographer I remember on the Alaska trip, nor Artie or Robert O'toole who used fill flash while I was there. I do not know why, I did think about it, but chose not .
Doug,
Thanks for the comment. I will do that for posting.

I really like the job you did with the colours.
Pose is right on and a ton of detail
I like the idea of bringing the whites up a bit, and if mine I might look at a bit of work lightening the eye area as well.
Even though a DAD shot, they are still memorable so good for you.

nice portrait here! I agree regarding fill flash, but in the absence of it maybe brighten the face selectively? could also use some noise reduction on the background

Very Nice. I agree with a little selective exposure in the darker areas of the face. Just a bit which I think will help.
Great pose. Good Job.
Matt
