I think you did well, but it could use a little more work in post. The two biggest things I see are the brightness is a bit much loosing detail in the back of the bird. WB is good w/ what I think is a slight color cast.

I took a stab at a quick edit.
Set levels which mostly amounted to setting white output lower but when I set the pupil to black it made the res a bit more vibrant/saturated. Desaturated the entire image slightly. And I did a shadow/highlight adjustment, Tried not to go too far with that.
Saved for web at 65% (to meet the max kb requirements here) so it might look less sharp than the original. :e3

Steven, I see what you mean, and like the repost (although you could not post it at the highest quality). Also, looking at the original image now, I think wave lines are a bit distracting and I would have preferred calm water, and a better reflection.
