Took this today in my backyard, thought it came out well .... except for the small twigs in front of him. Any Advice?

Nice sharpness and color Andrew. The bird appears to have been photographed from a steep angle. The twigs are a distraction, but most can be easily cloned out. A little head turn would have been nice too.

Hi Andrew, I have moved your image to ETL where you can receive more help. You handled the reds well. Doug's comments above are excellent. In addition to all of the distracting twigs there is a shadow on the bird's face. And the thin o-o-f branch that comes towards us is an image killer.
Best to start feeding the birds and setting up your own perches... There is a great section on that in ABP II.
Later and love, artie

Andrew agree with all Do have to point the color looks great Very realistic color
Do try for a lower angle if possible Extreme angles are best left of special effects !!!1
