I'm going to be in Chicago for a week in May without a car. I'll be staying downtown in the Loop. Are there birding areas in the city or nearby that I can get to easily on transit?

Ian, there are a few areas close by downtown. North Pond, just north of the Lincoln Park Zoo, next to the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum. The Magic Hedge, by Montrose Harbor, and possibly Northerly Island, former site of Meigs Field, an airport. Murray
