Hardware Upgrade for Mongoose 3.5A

I purchased a used Mongoose 3.5A and I am considering doing the hardware upgrade
which should bring it up the 3.6.

I am a Mongoose Newbie and I wonder if someone who has used both or had done the upgrade could tell me if it is worth the $110?

I got in touch with someone at 4th Generation and they highly recommended the upgrade.
They offer the upgrade for $110 and a trade in for I think $285. He said when you do the
hardware upgrade it becomes essentially a 3.6 without the Red insert on the side.

I find it grips all my lens plates better, some had a little play before.
The locking features are all quite an improvement. I wasn't totally happy with the old version as a whole but I am now with this one.
I traded mine in, (lazy) but I would have been better off selling it on Ebay then buying a brand new 3.6.
