This image is from the south west coast of Norway. It was taken at midday. I was about to shoot Dunlin. Then came the Little stint flying. It was so close that it was not focused. I had to crawl backwards to get it into focus. And there was a pond, so I got very wet. Image is transformed by feedback from the other forums.Data: ISO 100 F4,0 1/1000 500mmL F4,0 IS. Pretty good light for midday! I like the low angle, perfect exposure, and BG. If it were mine I would crop it to just beneath the grass because the reflection isn't that great.

Well done and keep them coming!

Great image and I agree with Aidans comments re crop. Puts all the focus back on the bird. Good detail and really worth getting wet!

regards.

Lovely photo and wish it was mine.

I can go either way on crop. Although with this crop I may lighten the lrc a bit.

Excellent shot and good for you to get wet. Love the angle.

Simple, but beautiful image. I like it just the way it is. Excellent management of the depth of field, and beautiful colors. Congratulations.

I would gladly get wet 10 times over for a photo like that

As it gets in my book. I don't agree with the others about cropping out the reflection. I like the mood that it adds because the water looks flat yet the reflection isn't sharp. I guess the reflection is simply out of focus since you're so low, close, and wide open. I also like how the grass tapers away from left to right.

I like the reflection too, but it's the square crop with the bird too close (IMO) to the left edge that I don't like as much. If you have it I'd add back some at left, and a bit more at right to a more traditional 3:2 ratio.

All else looks great. Details, exposure, low angle, colours. Excellent image overall.

Great shot...love the reflection too, not crazy about the crop.

I like the low angle, exposure and detail. I agree cropping just below the grass will work, together with adding space on the left.

This is a very pleasing image, IMO. I like the reflection, and if it were mine I would have cropped less on the left to show more of the grass. Very nice!:S3:

Hey Geir,
As I gnerally prefer tight crops.....I am fine with the OP and I think the reflection adds to the overall appeal of the image. Wouldn't change a thing! Very nicely done!
