Nice simple design. Image looks a tad dark...the cheek patch is not as white as it should IMO, and some of the blacks are blocked, or clipping the left edge of the histogram. Good pose, great BG, OK perch but not crazy about blunt ending.

P.S. Image is larger than the 800 pixel vertical limit:w3

Patricia,

This bird has very nice form and feather detail. The sun is off to the left with about a 30 degree phase angle, giving these details. I love the background and it is a nice color contrast to the yellow on the bird. On my monitor, the blacks appear a little too black with no detail in some parts, and the white is not very bright, so I think the entire image could be brightened. Is this a crop? I would trim a little off the right to move the bird to the right in the frame, and maybe include a little more on the bottom.

Beautiful little bird with good sharpness. Agree with the comments above by Daniel and Roger.

Nice poso and image composition. The depth of field is perfect IMO. Like the others, not too fond about the perch, and the image is too dark. Also, beware of the slight oversharpening, as there are some white halos appearing around the edges (beak, top of the head).

I really appreciate all the good advice you are giving med. I really see your point of view. I have a bit of a hard time getting this image in a good way. Is this one better than the last one? To me it look like the light it too hard,

Exposure in the repost looks much better! The light does not look harsh on my monitor.
