This is a fantastic capture Dave! I love Cardinals. They are so figity that they are a challenging subject. Great job, she's beautiful!

Impressive detail and I like the turned down head. The perch is kind of overpowering this beautiful Cardinal...maybe a tighter crop to eliminate some of it's size?

Sharp with a good EXP and an inquisitive pose. Duane hit the nail on the head re: the perch....

Hi Dave, beautiful bird, like the perch coming down from the top. Excellent exposure and sharpness.

I'm not crazy about the perch, nor the tree in ULC but I love the cardinals pose. Details and techs look good.

Thanks all for the good comments and suggestions; I'll relook the perch and see what I can do. Better yet, I'll head out to the woods and see if I can find her on a better perch.

Thanks, Dave

You're welcome.

They can be difficult to photograph in the woods and can be quite shy - plus you can't really control where they'll land. Even better would be to attract them to a backyard feederand perch setup.:S3:
