It was the time of year last week to be working on getting the nest in tip-top shape.

I really like this with the branch in the bill. The crop works too, but I am thinking the WB needs to be adjusted as the whole thing has a yellowish cast to it.:S3:

What a wonderful image! I don't recall ever seeing an anhinga with nesting material perched away from the nest. I love the balance of the composition, the sharpness of the head, the head angle, the open beak, and the touch of green in the nesting material. I agree that the image appears to have a yellowish cast, but rather like the warmth provided by a light yellow background rather than a stark white background.

Allan:
Interesting perch, delicate nesting material which doesn't block the body, sharp, well exposed.
On my work monitor I don't find the color balance objectionable.

Great pose and the delicate branch is lovely! You did very well with the challenging light. I see quite a lot of noise on the bird.

Great sharp detail captured. Like the building material. IMG is well exposed with good colour :S3:

Awesome pose, perch, and branch. Comp is wonderful too...very artistic image. With the colour noise apparent on the plumage did you need to lighten the blacks? I also find the WB a bit too yellow. Great stuff overall:c3:

Allan, This is beautiful. Is it from Green Cay? I like the branch and the pose very much.

Thanks for the comments. I think this was my favorite image from my trip.
I used noise reduction on the background. Daniel, I did lighten the image in pp.
Denise, it is from Viera Wetlands.
WB - well, it was early morning and it look like what I saw.
