Nice bird and stare but I am guessing that this is over-processed by a large margin.... May we please see the original?

The bird looks cut out and the (somewhat noisy) BKGR looks as if it has been overly smoothed....

Nice head on stare and OOf BG, I think I would crop a little off the bottom and run a round of noise reduction on the BG

Loved the pose and stare. Fits the monthly theme very well. This is a tricky one to crop...a squarish one might work best.

Artie, this is my original of my last post (sized for email) I'm not sure if I am doing this right. Your criticism is welcomed. Thanks Flues

It will be interesting to see if Artie does a rework. I can't see any signs of over processing and bg in repost looks fine.

Now that I see original file I might leave a bit more tail room.

Also if you have another opportunity for this Oriole you may want to try taping a bit different perch a tad higher than this one.

I agree, bird is staring straight down the barrel.

Flues, Been on the road a lot and swamped :) IMHO the original post was too big a crop, too contrasty, and too saturated.... And I am thinking that the image was not real sharp from the get-go. Image quality was poor. Anyway, hope that you and Dave get to see my version :)

Thanks for doing this Artie. You put a lot of other 60 years olds, including me, to shame.

Now that i look at original again I think it looks a bit under exposed. I can't quite tell on image quality.

Certainly if IQ is off then cropping too much will make that more evident.

You are most welcome Dave. I am not sure what age has to do with it :) I was not very good at Photoshop at 20, 30, 40, 50, or 55 :) I am pretty good now but I have learned a ton of stuff from others most notably Robert O'Toole.
