The first thing that grabs my attention is the eye -- that eye ! So tiny, yet dominant in the image as it's razor sharp and raging with color, in a color image with a monochromatic feel.

The bird itself is beautiful, with wonderful detail, and the BG is exquisite.

While I happen to like your treatment a lot, I find myself wondering how it would look it it were, overall, just a bit brighter.

Well-done !

p.s. I'm editing my post to retract my 'brightening' comment -- the problem was on my monitor, and I have corrected it.

Hi Stuart, Really like the monochromatic look here with nice feather detail and as Bill pointed out the with the rest of the image being monochromatic the color eye really stand out and hold your attention.

I also like all the tones of grey in the photo.

I just wonder about a bit different composition with a bit off bottom and right side to bring the bird off centre and a bit closer as well.

I like the nice flight path.

Hi Stuart, nice exposure and sharpness with good feather detail. Love the curled primary on the near wing. I also would consider the crop as suggested by Dave but with a little more room above the bird.
