Wide angle options

Hi All

Has anyone had experience with a Zeiss Distagon T* 18mm f/3.5 ZE on a 1D4? I am looking for a good bit of landscape glass and I am considering this over the Canon 16 35mm L. I can live with the manual focus. The closest I currently have is a Canon 24-70 F 2.8L

Any opinions out there?

How about a nikon 14-24 2.8 with adapter? Its a very sharp lens

Thanks for you input Brian. I understand the Nikon glass you suggested is a good option, but i was hoping (maybe in vain...!) that someone could offer opinions on the Zeis lens also, either relative to the 16-35 Canon or to the Nikon 14 -24....
