Hi Joshi, you found a beautiful rose to photograph....it's close to perfection! One problem I see with this shot is that the background is close and is distracting. It's always important to look at what is behind your subject. I'll spend much more time looking for a good background that I will looking for the subject itself. Would a different angle have produced a better background? Another problem is that the rose appears to be floating....it is a good idea to have a stem showing so that the flower is "anchored" in the shot. Some things can be fixed on the computer. The flower looks soft so it could use more sharpening. This subject has fairly even edges and can be easily selected so you can blur the background and that is what I did in this repost. I do not know what software you use to process your photos so I cannot tell you how to do this on your computer.

I'm looking forward to more of your rose shots. :S3:

I have to agree with the above. However, nice color, and straight on images of flowers are my favorite of this type macro.

Hi bhavya, I don't have much to add to what Ken said but agree it is a beautiful subject you chose.

Hey Bhavya,
I think Ken's repost is the way to go when you get the software. Really nice specimen!

Gorgeous rose! Love that yellow color and the beautiful shapes of the petals, and that the rose is perfect--no blemishes. I like the depth of field you chose--the tops of the petals are sharp. The falloff of sharpness does not bother me. Lovely light! I like what Ken did with the bg. I don't mind the floating flower effect here. Lovely work!
