Anhinga, back side of pond, Venice Rookery, at Artie's recently completed IPT
This fellow was most cooperative, and posed for a bunch of us for quite a while.
Tried a variety of settings, different camera/lens combos. The dark areas in the water caused by shadows of trees on opposite side of pond.

Advice and thoughts always appreciated

You positioned yourself perfectly in between the two dark areas of the water. The backlighting looks great, and the bird struck a nice pose for you. I might darken the water around the tail feathers a little to accentuate the backlighting down there.

Looks excellent, Randy. Agree with Doug on the perfect positioning. Love the rim light outlining the neck.

Nice rimlight to this Randy. Good position of bird in frame. Good idea from Doug on darkening the water near tail. Well done.

I knew that there was a reason that I wanted to push you out of that spot.... You were in the perfect position with the right lens.
