Taken last week at Viera Wetlands. I wish there was a little more room at the bottom but this is almost full frame.

Nikon d300
200-400mm f/4 + 1.4x @ 550mm
ISO 400, f/8, 1/800

ACR & CS5 selective sharpening and levels adjustment

Comments appreciated!

Hi Maureen - lots to like here - agree with your comment about more room - IMHO with the bird looking out of the frame as you have here a little more room in the direction he is looking does not hurt - as is my eyes tend to follow his gaze straight out of the frame and not come back in.
PP and exposure looks good as does sharpness.
Keep em coming :)

The bird is beautiful, Maureen - nice clarity and detail throughout. You've got harsh lighting again but I think you've made the most of it as the bird is really nice and not overly sharp in tone.

I also agree with a bit more room bottom and right and I'd try to lighten up that darker area on the right just a bit. It's a good way to keep the eye in the frame but it feels a little heavy on that side - bringing up the midtones there might even out the image a bit more.

You seem to have a love affair with the GBH's...am I right?

Good catch MAureen. Glad to see you got out to Viera. I like the stopped action of the raised foot and the detail in the feathers. TFS
