Nice perspective and feeding pose. The comp is a little tight IMO. Hard to imagine a tight crop of a bird at 22mm!! As you said the environment is a tad busy, but I kind of like it here as shows the birds habitat so well.

Cool perspective - way to go in thinking about experimenting with a different lens. Busy, for sure, but the biggest culprits IMO are the thin twigs above the back and URC.

Very cool perspective. I know it is hard to lay on the ground and get a level shot, but if you have more room it looks as if it could use a little CW. TFS love these different type of shots

Agree it's different and I like the environmental aspect. Also agree it's a bit too tight and could use some adjustment (fill light, s/h) to give it some pop.
Here's my spin on it by selecting the bird and applying s/h, b/c, and dodging the eye and red part of the head.

Good thinking on the wide angle and getting nice and low. It really gives the viewer your perspective. Agree it's a tad tight but I like the idea here.
