This is the mate of the male Northern Cardinal I posted the other day. Removed some seeds from the snow, but left the ones in the bill. This image has some more texture to the snow than the previous post, but perhaps less dramatic than the all-red male.

Bill, nice shot, I do like the bit of detail in the snow. My one wish would be for her head to be turned just a bit toward the viewer, might make it a little more personal. I really like the raised crest and the seeds.

Good detail Bill, both in the cardinal and the snow. Exposure looks good, agree with a little head turn would be nice but still a nice image. Well done.

Excellent exposure against the bright BG Bill, love the feather texture and colours.

Hey Bill,
I think the added textures make this. Yeah....head turn would be nice....but still a fine image overall!

I like that there is enough texture in the snow to provide some contrast without it being distracting. I think you know about the HA and I personally wish that the head was cleaner. JR

The cardinal really stands out nicely from the white snow! Almost make me wish for more snow!
