Great first post, keep up the good work and keep on posting...

Like this one. Great light and a very nice BG. The comp and the head angle is right on.

2 quick PS techniques would really enhance this image. A quick S-curve and some selective USM on the face and bill would make the image even better.

Love the composition. The bird looks a little soft in my monitor but you did well with the composition and exposure.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm not sure what I do when I downsize images but they always appear softer than the originals. The original on this is quite sharp, down to the fibers in each feather... Any suggestions for sharpening for the web?

Welcome aboard. A nice first post. Agree about some sharpening. In terms of sharpening for the web there are so many techniques out there. I would try using a few rounds of the USM filter in PS. I usually do one at 150/0.2/0 and then up to 5 passes at 100/0.2/0 (depends on the image).
