An interesting crop on this one, Gary - I like it. I think the impact of this photo would improve significantly if you could lighten the alligator's left eye.

Hi Gary, Which lens was that? How much crop? I like this shot. I would have loved some more light on the eyes. Any volunteer to carry a reflector near the gator? :-)

An interesting crop that works here. The dark eyes are a problem. A bit of fill flash may have helped here..

I agree with the others. Great crop and perspective. Fill-flash would have helped here. Some selective tonal adjustments on the gator (especially his left eye) will improve it greatly.

The lens was 100-400 at 320mm and I was only a few feet away basically shooting from under my car. i don't think I could have gotten a volunteer to hold anything even a flash. It nearly full frame.

Tremendous old beast. I love the detail of his hide. Lightening the eye would make a difference.
