I captured this one late afternoon in the Kruger Park. I wished for a lower angle :S3:

Canon 7 D
Lens 300 2f + 1.4

ISO 500

WOW:eek: Look at those scaly legs!! Is that where it gets the name or does it like to munch on serpents?

The light is great, golden is good! I think I might have gone for a slightly looser crop.

Just when I thought I had at last got a good image of this bird, you post this:bg3:

They are normally very shy and you cannot get close to them (at least not on my experience)

Lovely eyes

Lovely shot great pose and fine detail. You wished for a lower angle? Do you mean you wish you were higher/the bird was lower??

Very nice image Chris...The IQ is top notch and light...'Superb'...Lower angle would have been nice, but you cant always have it all.:S3:

Used to see these in Zim/Zambia

Chris - just checked Roberts BOSA
Indeed they eat snakes up to 3 metres apparently such as Mambas, Cobras, they will also take Nile Monitor lizards and smaller lizards so aptly named @snake@ eagle!
