Hi Phil, Not sure if its my monitor but this image looks very washed out. Nice and sharp a love the space for the bird to fly into so nice composition!

The soft light is nice and the wing position and the position are both good. Very good.
Hope you dont mind the repost, applied an S-curve in PS CS3 to help with the contrast.

Its midnight EST and I am up at 5am to go photographing so I have to make it short.
Glad you like it, I just applied a simple S curve in Photoshop.
Opened the image in PS and applied a curve that I have saved. Ctrl+M shortcut or Menu>image>adjustments>curves
CS3 has a built in s-curve called linear.
This is what an S-curve looks like, a little but exagerated so it is easy to see the changes.
If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them tomorrow.
