Having photographed here I understand sometimes how difficult it is to isolate your subject. You have some great interaction here. I may have tried to crop tighter in camera or in post processing. Exposure was handled well.

Yes this looks like elephant seals to me....an interesting photograph. My eye is really drawn to the line created by the body of the female(?) leading towards the head of the male(?). I would say an even tighter vertical compsition of this part of the image would work even better.
