40D. 400f5.6L at f/6.3. iso 400. 1/1000s. evaluative metering + 1 1/3. bean bag support on ground.

First decent shot I got of this common bird. I was shooting ducks and he decided to drop by for a bath. However, he noticed me and took off. Got just three shots...this one just before take-off.

Another spectacular low angle capture, and I really like the green sheen of the starling. Sharp, and against a killer BG. Hope you got the take off shot.:w3

No, I did not. too fast. Anyways, it was in the opposite direction. Next time perhaps.

These birds are smart (closely related to Mynas I believe) and skittish, so getting sharp photos outside of a heavily urban setting can be very tough. Nice job on the bird and beautiful BG colors.

Kaustubh you seem to know where these birds will land.:S3: You have captured the plumage detail exceptionaly well with great eye contact. Once again super low angle with lovely BG.

What I love best about this image is the thin film of water between the mandibles...very cool!! I also like the drops on the bird's body, and the one on the water. Perhaps an illusion, but looks like it could use a very small touch of CW rotation if judging from the water ripples.

Very well done KD, most of your images of late fit this month's theme...:S3:

Like the low angle and BG colors. Yes...common bird but good light make them look very nice. I like this a lot.

Well done getting the bird iin water, and with such a low perspective. The blue and beige makes a nice setting.
