Another Phoenix Zoo image. Although I usually try to get rid of any signs of captivity in my zoo images, I didn't think the behavior here warranted that.

Canon 7D
Sigma 100-300mm f/4 @ 137mm
1/500 sec f/9 (Av) ISO 200 HH

Minor crop for composition, S/H and sharpening in CS5

Looks just like the parasailer coming in from a fun ride!

Wow. Wouldn't you like to be able to do that.

I am glad that you left as much of nylon shelter in as you did. A larger crop would have been better for monkey but made a confusing photo.

Nicely exposed.

Thanks. They make it look effortless, too.

I wrestled with the crop and, as you say Dave, the larger crop made it less pleasing to my eye. The angles of the canopy seemed to me to follow the direction of his eye and movement and I liked that.

This could be a fun photo if you replaced the head with one of your friends. I think way outside the box :)

Ian, what a one of a kind image! That's too fun! :w3

I also think you did very well on the choice of crop - the nylon sail definitely needed to be included here. If this were mind, I think I'd clone out the whole and the one dark spot on the right side.

Thanks, Jules -- consider them gone!
