An image from our trip to Queensland last year - still catching up on processing!
Captured late in the day against a dark clouded sky and an approaching storm. After 2 attempts to get up to it's nest the bird gave up and started eating the fish on a lower perch.

Hi Tony, I know how you like your high key effect, and this has turned out very well. Good flying posture, and I like the wingspread. Thats a fair size catch the Osprey has caught. Cheers.

Excellent shot Tony, good colour and detail across the whole bird. Looks like a Pike that it has caught.

Thanks Colin. It was a marine fish - Barracuda (Seapike) I think.

Tony:
Good to see you posting.
Soft light gave nice even illumination with good underwing detail.
Impressive fish, also like the head without wing merge.
Cheers

You can see the teeth on that fish! Nice high key background and mouth-open pose. I also like the way the overcast sky backlights the tailfeathers.

Wow excellent image Tony, love the detail, light and posture of the Osprey. Nice catch (fish) with the touch of red adding the final touch.

you exposed it well with nice detail and I dig the high-key effect here Tony...predatory fish meets its match
what was it that Quaigon Jinn said in Episode 1 of Star Wars? "There's always a bigger fish"...nearly apt in this case ;)

Great action! Like the pike and the hi-key background.
