Lovely colors on this bird Jan. Unfortunately it looks like the focus was in front of the bird , note the sharp leaves bottom center.

Striking bird with neat colours. Your chosen crop is OK. Looks difficult to catch taking off! The head is rather soft, and as pointed out by Todd the focus is on the tree at bottom. Lots of noise on the bird, did you need to recovery some dark areas?
