Sunlight has been at a premium in the UK for most of 2011 and this weekend has been so bad that I haven't clicked the shutter once due to the grey skies and persistent rain.
Last weekend however, I did get a couple of hours of low winter sun which was when this picture was taken. This Cormorant was one of many enjoying the sunshine and this fresh water pool.
I posted recently an image of the same bird, splashing in the water. It did it several times without diving or taking off and I am still not sure of the purpose of the splashing. The image is HERE (http://www.austin-thomas.co.uk/blog/?p=711) for those that are interested or know why it might be behaving in such a way.
C&C welcome.
