This image was taken at First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod in September of 2010.

Equipment Used:
Olympus E-3
Digital Zuiko 14-54mm f2.8-3.5 @25mm
1/320 sec
f6.3
iso 100
WB 5300K

Post Processing:
Contrast was increased and a small amount was cropped from the bottom. A RAW pre-sharpener was applied. Nik's tonal contrast filter was used to increase detail in the clouds. Topaz Adjust was used to enhance mid color. Water was softened. Output sharpening was applied.

Hi Richard, love the clouds and the details brought out by Nik's Tonal Contrast. Also, love the look of the water. I wonder if the bluest cloud is a touch too blue and needs to be de-saturated a little?

Andrew,

Yes, I agree on the blue. Thanks for pointing that out. The corrected image is below.

Hi Richard, repost looks good with the blue clouds toned down.

Richard, Beautiful and dramatic clouds with the play of light is what gives the image impact. The orange area on the lower rt adds to the drama with just enough water as a base. Nice one!

Beautiful scene, well captured. I love the glow on the clouds directly above the sun.

Hey Richard,
Very dramatic sky and the repost definitely was a good tweak! I love these dramatic sky images.....overall....very nicely done!

That's one dramatic sky !
Might tone down the blues (in clouds) a little more but again it may be just my monitor.
Amazing capture Richard.

I agree Richard, the reposted image's blue in the clouds looks much more natural now. Well done.

Drama! That's what I like, my only complaint is the boundary between sky and sea a little too sharp for me.
