Hello D., I like the way the bottom damselfly's wings run the same direction as the stick and the top df's

wings point in the opposite direction and almost the same angle as the stick. The bg could not be better imo.

There is a halo around their heads.

I knew this would come up since I thought the same thing but viewing the image at 100% shows fine hairs around the head of the Damselflies

Here is the image at 100% where you can see the hairs clearly

Its a great shot, I wonder if the halo is due to the sharpening mask being a bit too close? I would consider lowering the highlights a bit, I suspect you would get a little more detail.

Nice shot, great detail and lovely background. I think the shot would be better with less contrast and darker

Hey Dale,
I think the fine hairs are the culprit and appear to be a halo.....often happens with these damselfly. So I am OK with that. I am with the suggestion for a bit less brightness......but the comp and BG are fantastic. Minor tweaks to a very nicely done image.

I agree - I immediately thought the "halo" was the fine hairs of the df - so it works for me. The comp in this is the star of the show IMO. The angles of the df's and the bend in the branch...beautiful!

Hi Dale. Nice use of the 500 mm macro! :) I like the behavior illustrated and the comp, sharpness, and background are all first rate. Here's another vote for toning down the brightness just a bit. Well done.

Hey Dale, I really can't add to what's already been suggested....tone down the brightness and this will shine!
