Had quite a bit of recovery to do in the reds on this photo. Had to slide recovery all the way to the right as well as reduce the exposure a little.
I've just calibrated my monitor for the first time using the Spyder thingo. Everyones photos are look quite different. My editing will more than likely change because of this.....

Good detail on the blacks Chris, and nicely framed in the fork of the grass. I feel you could add a touch more contrast. Lovely smooth BG.

Yes to a touch more contrast. Love the framing done by the green branches. Very nice comp.

Look at this beautiful wren/red-winged blackbird hybrid!!:)

Excellent image, great comp and perch. I did not touch the blacks, which I agree could go a bit darker, but can anyone guess what I did in my repost? Should be easy....

Very nice image of a great looking bird.

My guess on Daniel's re-post would be that you lightened the eye a bit and maybe a little more USM????

Told ya that would be an easy guess! I indeed worked the eye...a thirty second job burning the pupil and thin bottom area arcing below the iris. Just wanted to show the importance of the impact of the eye...and how a quick tweak can sometimes make a big difference!:)

Cheers, Daniel.
I couldn't pick what you had done until you explained. I now see the pupil is more pronounced.
Thanks for taking the time :)
