Stumbled on this while chasing woodpeckers at my house, thought it might look nice. Background went intentionally nearly all black at exposure, any remaining oof color was then turned to same black.

Thanks for looking, critiques always appreciated.

I like the idea of the bright green and the stark black BG with the water droplets. Like the crispness and sharpness.

The crop/comp doesn’t appeal to me though, as a vertical the subject doesn’t sit vertically, its leaning to the left. Maybe in this case a 45 deg or horizontal crop would have worked better maybe. The pure black BG will let you experiment with the BG if you wanted to.

Todd I like the contrast created by the black BG. It makes the plant's colours pop.

Hey Todd, this really pops, nice sharp details, my suggestion would be a tighter crop. Well done.

I'm with Mike on this one.......Take some off right and top to really accentuate this comp. Exposure is right on,

I would be with Mike Moats too. A closer tight crop would make this one sing.

Agree with suggestions !!!! Might consider having the stalk coming in more at the bottom !!! Love the black bg contrasting the green leaf !!!!
