This was taken in early Sept. 2010 in Florida with James Shadle , we were on foot in shallow water near a sand bar shooting terns and gulls mostly. This is an afternoon shot.

ACR and CS5 .... this guy was sort of hovering and looking down as he hunted for fish I presume so I cropped this way to emphasize that behavior

Hi Joel,

Good whites and overall exposure. Head angle is turned away a little. If you want to emphasize where the tern is looking, perhaps a little off the top and right, but leave the water below as is. Excellent sharpness.

Yes, good exposure and hunting pose...but I agree about the HA...wish it was turned more our way. There seems to be a touch of magenta in the water's colour, perhaps caused by the bottom showing through the shallow depth? A small tweak there will make for a more apealing colour IMO.

I like the position you've placed the bird in the frame. It's a nice amount of open space without it being too much or too little.
