Last Sunday, a cloudy day; taken below my suet feeder. Could have used a bit more SS if the light had been a little brighter. And I'm not sure what to do about the little patch of snow; seems distracting but a tricky clone. Toned down some highlights and smoothed out the BG with multiple passes of Topaz Denoise. C&C appreciated.

I would go for it Bill.

I tried it for a few minutes and with some patience I think the clone tool could do a decent job.

I also did a bit of work on the oof llc which caught my eye in the original.

It is a nice photo and worth the effort.

I also wondered about a bit more selective sharpening to bring out a bit more eye and wing detail.

I like the pose, detail and color of the bird. The snow didn't bother me at first but after looking for awhile it does. Mybe use the material behind the bird to cover the snow by cloning.

Agree with Peter on the snow Bill. Very nice pose.

Great capture Bill.
I had no idea Carolina Wrens came up north. I always associated them with warmer climates. Made me go and check the range map and I might even find them south of where I am in Ottawa, Ontario.
I agree with the others that the snow clone would be good. The shot is definitely worth the work.

Everyone's covered my thoughts but I do like the pose and the bit of food in his mouth. Wrens are some of my favorite birds so thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for looking, and for the suggestions. Here's a repost with some more cloning.

Nicely done, Bill. You might also add a bit of a gentler slope to the green grass but the snow being gone is a bit improvement!
