Hi Guys,

Species:- Green Bee-Eater
Date:- 20th December, 2010

1/800 sec, f/10, ISO 200, EC -1/3 @ 400mm
Partial Metering, Handheld.

Canon EOS 40D,
Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM

Self Critique:- I was shooting on Program mode for an earlier species and hence ended up using the same. That resulted in f/10 here. I guess f/8 would have been a better choice had I switched to Av.

All C&C welcome and much appreciated.
Thanks for your valuable time. Appreciate it.

-Regards,
Rohan

I love bee eaters.
Very nicely taken with clean background.
Whats happen to his feathers (dropping off)?

Rohan, classic pose from the Bee eater, and you have brought out the colours very well. Comp works well, although maybe a touch tight at the bottom. I like the smooth BG too. Well captured.

WOW Haven't heard of a Green BE. What a stunning bird.
I like how the perch cuts the frame in half. Head angle is fantastic in my opinion. BG is very smooth but I might blend in those darker patches in the top half of the frame.
The bird does look to have a bit of a bald patch or is it just super fluffed up?

Wow what beautiful colours Rohan, never seen this species before either. Colours are well captured with good head turn and eye contact. TFS.

Rohan, Terrific shot indeed. Very well composed, good IQ, sharpness, exposure, colors, perch, excellent HA and superb BG. You nailed this one.

Guys, green bea eaters are common( but hard to shoot) where Rohan is from. I know because that is my home town as well :-)
