Happy New Year to everyone at BPN. Last year has helped me learn a lot of things here. Hope 2011 is equally rewarding.

Shot this guy on the lagoon at Ft Desoto Park. It was fun lying in the cold water to get shots of this guy.

Real nice image. Great light, vibrant colors, shot at nice low angle, HA, got the reflection and soft BG. Might add a little space behind bird.

Bhushan:

Nice low shooting angle, sharp, well exposed, nice drip.

Looks like it needs a bit of CW rotation, perhaps .5 degrees or so.

Agree with Brendan about a sliver more space behind.

I like the reflections of the water on the bird and that eye is so bold.

Agree with all of the comments above, especially regarding the CW rotation (could even see it on the thumbnail). Love the colours and the sharpness and clarity of the eye.

Thanks a lot for all the comments and suggestions. I have corrected the horizon in this one and added a little canvas to the right.

Gorgeous colors on bird. Superbly exposed. I especially loved the light reflected off the water and onto the bird. The drop falling from the bill is nice too.

Would like to see a bit more room at the bottom for the virtual legs/feet.

A subject near and dear to my heart.
The low angle with the eye contact it provides as well as the water falling off the Spoonbill's bill are represented brilliantly.

From my experience and for my taste you have enough room at the bottom, cropped the way it is.

Most other comments have been covered included the rotation. It is still off a little bit.
I bring it up to explain a fast and easy way to check it before you post.

When you up load your image, click "Preview Post". Then scroll your image's horizontal line to the top of your browser. Use the straight line at the top of the browser to compare.

If it's good click submit reply. If want to replace the image after checking it, click manage attachments and simply re-load the image.
