Another image of the Village Weaver, this time at a completed nest and showing the dorsal view which illustrates its alternate name "Spotted-backed Weaver". Quite accomplished at weaving they are. I was trying for an image with fanned tail which is part of their display but did'nt manage one which included the head turn as well. Next time.:)

50D/EF500f4+1.4/5.6@1/640/iso400/EC+0.33 - tripod - about 60%FF - removed some OOF nests in BG.

C&C allways welcome.

Pieter:

This is a wonderful natural history image. Shows fine detail on the bird, plus the nest.
Perhaps could stand just a bit of contrast boost, but I don't know this bird, so adjust to your taste.

I would prefer the limb not run out the top of the frame, if you have more above that shows it ending, but a minor point, as the bird and nest really draw ones attention.

Looks like a few cloning strokes visible in the RUC.

Cheers

Randy

What a unique looking bird, and really like the interesting hanging upside down pose you captured. Nice composition, agree about clone marks.

Fantastic pose and action captured, agree about a bit of a contrast and colour boost. Could just be the lighting conditions though. Well done with this one:)

Thanks for the feedback guys appreciate it very much.

Randy I boosted the contrast a bit and it improved the image a lot thanks. Fixed the clone stokes - careless.:o

I like this on a lot of fronts. Pleasing colors through out, interesting subject and that nest is captivating.
