Rosy Starling

Here one picture from the last summer. The Rosy Starlings are beautiful birds, especially during the breeding season. This male was demonstrating his attractiveness to the females and his ability to beat other males.
Taken with 7D, 500/4+1,4x, ISO 400, 1/800, f 5,6, +1 f-stop, no crop.

Love the pose and head angle!!! I think you nailed the exposure. I really like that the whole bird is sharp and in focus. The perch is cool too :D

What an awesome bird!! Love the pose and perch...BG not too shabby either! This would have been nice as a vertical with more room above and a bit below. Love the coif, and confident attitude.

Really love the look back pose given by the bird, and all the fluffy feathers. Good job with the exposure and nice details in the back. I like background and the rock perch as well. Well done :D

With no thumbnail I almost passed this one by. I am glad that I did not as it is a spectacular bird and a very fine image. Love the perch and the BKGR and that attitude. The raised crest, neck, and back feathers must really be appreciated by the ladies.

Superb bird, perfect look back pose, perfect exposure, nice perch = great image.
I agree that a vertical with more room above and below would work great as well.
I would also consider removing the dark spot north east of the head.

Actually I have one more shot where it has more room but the position of the body is with less tension, which changes the mood significantly.
