a small pride of Kalahari Lions on the western side of the Trans Frontier Park. The male and female lay some way off from the rest of the pride. Have recently completed a series of images with this format of crop. All comments appreciated.

Hi Andrew, the crop format works well for me on this pic. Also liked the dark BG behind the pair of lions, and the male lions dark mane is complemented by it. At any point did they either both look at you, or both look in the same direction?
cheers

I agree with Grant on the BG. I think the different head turns complement each other well here.

If cloning is OK with youm, I suggest outing the branch and the dark mound right of the females leg. If enot still AOK as presented.

I think that cropping a tad off the right would get them out of the center but that would cut the branch big time.

Agree with above on the bg, works well with this pair. Some good detail showing in the lions. Crop wise I would take some off behind the Male and a sliver off the top. Well done.

thanks for all the suggestions above ! Cloning not a real issue for me if there is no other option if you are unable to move or reposition for the shot. In saying that, my cloning skills are not the best:p

Thanks for taking the time to look!

Andrew, good capture. I would crop just slightly tighter both off the top and the bottom. The male's face pops with the BG.

Andrew the presentation here is nice! I like the crop and the fact that they were lying just in front of that shady patch...

I like the composition here and the lions pops nicely from the darker BG. Mating pair?
