Took a hike just north of Canyon camp ground (YNP) a few years ago and this bull was blocking the trail so I gave him a wide berth. On the way back he had moved off a bit allowing this scene with the bit of color and stream.

Hi Todd,

I like the good level of detail you captured in the bison. I like the background, the layers of color and the sunlight trees in he BG.

I would suggest that the better composition here was tilting the camera up thereby eliminating the OOF FG and showing more of the BG trees. A rule of thirds in vertical placing the bison in the lower left third.

In the OP, I would crop off the bottom up to the top of the water and crop or clone out the clip bison along the right edge.

Thanks for the comments. Robert, thank you for the suggestion re:comp. I will take a look at it. I took a few different images of this scene, but as I am a lover of oof fg's this was the image of the series I liked the most. One of those personal things I guess :)
Thanks again,
Todd

Todd, I like this image. I like the color added by the wildflowers in the FG but I would crop to the base of the flowers.

lovely colours and fall of light Todd...I would have wished for the immediate FG to be in focus or cut out entirely as per Robert's critique...
