Farmhouse Ruins

Went to a nearby farm just outside of town on Monday night as I saw a lovely sunset creeping up. I was held back by a personal meeting that I had to attend with my better half, resulting in me missing some of the sweetest light. I lingered and flung together a few compositions though - and was once again amazed at the amount of light the camera sensor picks up when your eyes tell you it's too dark.

This is a blend of 3 exposures using luminosity masking in CS5.

I think it is truly a cool image; I might play with lightening the structure just a tiny bit without upsetting the balance between the light side and the shadow side.

Morkel, this works for me. Very nicely done and love the orange in the sky. I think I would also try the crop for an alternate version. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi Morkel, this shot works for me, the comp is great. I would also like to see if you could maybe lighten the house just a little...the shot has feeling. Well done. The 7D works really well with the 10-22 for these kind of shots....

I like the pano better......although that is a personal preference.! I may go a bit more.....under the 2nd small cloud in the URC.....personal preference thing but let's see what others chime in.

2. The left side feel darker in the pano than the OP.

thanks for the feedback on the repost guys...I like it, but I kind of like the OP more for the same reason Katherine does - that wide open sky effect :)
