While trying to capture some ground squirrel interaction in Nossob camp, Kgalagadi recently I paused for a while to relax in the shade when I noticed this Ground Squirrel showed interest in my camera. I quickly grabbed my 7D with 100-400 and created this image. Removed some OOF poles in the top half of the image.

Canon 7D
Canon 100-400 Lens
ISO 200
F7.1
1/1600
Aperture Priority

Sorry for my lack of participation lately but been very busy in the new office and did not do a lot of shooting. I do however have a few images I would like to share from my recent trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

Wishing you all the happiness of the season and peace and prosperity in the new year.

Hi Hendri, I think she might have preferred to use the 'Live view' function for this one. :)

Nice to see a skimmer pod.

This is great, if you can't sell this to some advertising agency I'd be very surprised. What a fun shot.

This is hysterical. I'd imagine that Canon might be interested in using it in one of their advertisements. Well exposed despite the harsh lighting as well. JR

This is great. I can see the commercial now:

"The tough part is getting someone to carry it for you. But Canon's EOS system is so simple, anyone can use it."

Since this image has been posted in the "Wildlife, Image Critiques" forum, I presume that an accurate, critical analysis is expected. So here goes!

I like this image, because of its many desirable attributes. Contrast and color saturation are excellent, and the image is tack sharp. And the major subject of the image is well positioned according to the rule-of-thirds. Well done Hendri! :)

And Happy Holidays to Hendri and everyone else on BPN! :p
