Hi Thomas. Great detail on your fly and the water drops are a nice touch that adds interest to the image. Also, a nice view of the haltere. :) The light fly stands out well from the dark (but not black) background. Well done.

Incredible detail, and the droplet on the eye puts this over the top. The silver of the fly stands out very well against the darker BG.

I agree with the others that this is a good shot taken over the top by those water drops! It's a bit tight in the frame so I'd like to see how it looks with slightly more space on the top and bottom.

Are those crescent catchlights caused by the ringflash?

I would rather not appreciate the beauty of insects, but photos like this make this impossible! :) I like the tight crop and the fantastic details. Nice light also.

Hey Thomas,
This is fantastic!!! As mentioned above.....water drops and BG take this way over the top. If you do add room or have it.....just a sliver for my tastes but I really love the OP as well! Very nicely done!!!:cheers::cheers:

Thanks a lot!
I have no more room in the frame. This is at 2:1 and as close as it gets with the TC.
The catchlight is probably due to the ringflash, yes.
