Here's a shot of a perched Red-winged Blackbird from this past summer taken from the car window in a local wetland. What I really like about this shot is the background - it was taken just as the sun broke out after a storm front passed over (leaving that beautiful dark sky in the background). I do wish the right "fork" of the perch wasn't so tall, but I guess it is what it is...

Too bad these sunny w/stormy BG conditions don't happen too often as they are right up there among my favorites! As you point out, too bad the fork is so tall...

Very cool BG with the dark grey top and mmixed green bottom.

Good self analysis, and it is fun to see a RWB with a more unusual background.
Your exposure is good as well.

Now if that darn fork wasn't so large!
