Photographed at Bosque del Apache. The pintails did not seem to do very much so I was pleased with some action!

Canon 7D, Canon 400 f4 DO IS.
ISO 400, f7.1, 1/2500, exp. comp. -1/3.

C & C very welcome.

Whoa, this is one fine image. Love the two great head angles, the perfect exposure with details in the chocolate and the whites, and the position of the two bills. Hard to beat this for a pintail fight!

Nancy:

Sharp, well exposed, nice colors, good action.

Looks like it needs some CW rotation to me.

Glad you got some action!

Cheers

Hi Nancy, this looks like a superb image, well exposed, sharp, great BG. I agree on rotation, and if it were mine I would try a tighter crop (if you have lots of pixels to play with), enough to crop out the line of coloured reflection on the RHS. That would also strengthen the whole fighting posture for me...
Well done and TFS

Pretty neat interaction, I like the play of lines and shapes surrounding the bills and heads. I too feel it needs some CW rotation. Looks rather peaceful for a duel!:)

Good suggestions. I applied some rotation and changed the crop. As far as the duel goes, there was some pulling of feathers but nothing too violent :).

I like the first image, but the second is even better. Excellent capture it is always nice when you can get some action out of the ducks rather than just swimming, sleeping or reading
